Shop for a Cause and Over-explaining Revisited

In the previous BTC newsletter, we discussed the symptoms and potential side effects of over-explainitis. We received messages about the topic and thought we would briefly revisit the potential perils of being an over-explainer. 

 

Success in today’s market hinges on understanding your customers, and overexplainers tend to only think about what others should hear instead of what they actually want to hear. Engage your audience and have a conversation with them.

 

You may be proud of your service offering or product that will revolutionize the (insert industry) because of all the hours of testing your team did, but your customers don't really care about all of that. Save the features discussion for internal conversations and for your sales team. Your colleagues might let you get away with getting sidetracked during a meeting, but customers will not be so forgiving.

 

Your customer wants to hear how your offering or product will:

  • Save time

  • Make them more money

  • Get their business ready to scale or sell

  • Increase their status amongst their industry peers

Shop for a Cause with Blue Tide Creative

We’re excited to announce that we launched the Blue Tide Creative apparel line this month! This passion project is not only a way to creatively stretch our fins, but a way to support organizations and nonprofits focused on ocean conservation and education.

 

Our inaugural line, the Gold Wave line, was created by artist @prewdeck and 20% of all sales will be donated to the North Carolina Coastal Federation, a nonprofit focused on education, restoration, and protection of the North Carolina coastline. 

 

It's time for us to give back to the source of inspiration for us, including our name, and that is our oceans. We are starting with five items on our website (SHOP HERE) and will expand in the coming months by adding more apparel items and accessories.
